In this month’s Create Like Crazy newsletter essay, I wrote about a detour I’ve recently inadvertently taken with my writing. I lost my way a bit and got distracted by wanting to be published and wanting to be read, by wanting to be liked and wanting to be accepted. My work suffered, even if I’m the only one that noticed, I’m probably not the only one that noticed, and I can only be grateful that I caught myself straying when I did and not a moment later. A moment or two sooner would have been acceptable, though. Note to self.
Sometimes the hard things to write are the ones that need to be written. Sometimes confessions are cathartic and it’s good to own up to your own bullshit. That’s what this is. Thank you for reading.
As always if you’d like to receive Create Like Crazy in your inbox once a month (no more, no less), just sign up with your email address over here. Slightly out of control and highly entertaining.
